Young Rheologists' Days

Oléron Island, from May 26th to May 29th 2026

The 2026 Young Rheologists’ Days (JJR 2026) will take place from 26 to 29 May 2026 at the CAES Center on Oléron Island. This event aims to bring together PhD students and postdoctoral researchers from across the community to foster exchanges and strengthen connections. It also offers them the opportunity to present their recent work and to discover the work of other early-career researchers with whom they will interact throughout their future careers, whether in academia or industry. These days will also be an opportunity to engage with more senior researchers who have made significant contributions to various areas of rheology. They will present their respective fields of expertise, as well as different aspects of the research profession and current challenges in rheology. Interactions –both among participants and between participants and invited speakers– will also be encouraged through informal moments during the event (breaks, meals, and a half-day “off-site” activity).

This new edition of the JJR is organised at the CAES-CNRS center of La Vieille Perrotine on Oléron. The island offers a unique natural environment, with fine sandy beaches, rich and diverse wildlife and vegetation, as well as remarkable architectural heritage including fortifications, churches, a castle, and of course the well-known Fort Boyard. The La Vieille Perrotine center is both a holiday venue and a seminar facility, providing high-quality services for hosting the JJR: meeting rooms, IT equipment, Wi-Fi, as well as on-site accommodation and catering.
